Of course, make full use of the positive experiences that is contained in this blog. It would be good for newbie, i.e. those who just started out this area called internet marketing.

Affiliate master

Today, I refer to a group of excel enthusiatics about my solution to their problem and immediately, my page impression shot up.

Even though I have more or less digest the information from affiliate masters ebook, to perform as what they have guide is still quite painful. As I continue to blog at my Excel blog, 2 things stikes me:

1) The content must be fresh to your reader. To sustain the traffic, new ideas must surface all the time. Having said that, I foresee that the effort to sustain the traffic at the Excel blog is an uphill task, considering that the improvement in Exce features are quite limited. I need to think about application and solutions to retain the traffic that I attract.

2) Monetising the site must be done carefully. At the present moment, I have not come up with the content to fill in for all the levels. This is important and must be done carefully because it will affect the entire performance of the web site. One objective remain clear. My first priority is to sell my services and products, followed by other people's products.

3) I have intention to subscribe to sitesell. It seems like a good product to own if you are a novice is web design. having some of the knowledge meant that the value drops. One benefit it offers which is quite attractive is to submit to Search engines and monitor the spiders. The benefit I can gain by subscribing is that I would have used it myself to recommend to another businessman who is interested to manage their own websites. So far, I have recommended cybersite to some and they have taken my advise to go with them. However, this has not generated any revenue for me because cybersite do not offer a reseller program.

Highly recommended ebook by Stephen Pierce

I continue to read more about Stephen Peirce ebook which is priced at $47.97. I really wish I have discovered it earlier. The book is highly recommended by me because it prepares you upfront on sieving out the copycats from the real guru. After reading the ebook, I am sure I would be moving on the right track and be more conscious of what I am exploring as a brand internet marketer.

Following the masses

I signed up for Stuart Tan's free 7 days mini course and I got my hand on this eReport from Stephen Pierce. I read the first 37 pages and was taken aback by the fact that I had also followed the masses. It was time well spent reading this eReport which is priced at US$97 but was given free thru Stuart 7 days mini-course. One consolation is that I had started to focus back on my business before reading this eReport and it has confirmed that I am in the right direction. If I had not, I would have wasted time pursuing the 'Succesful strategies" that may not be suitable for me.

Theme related searches

I was reading Affiliate Masters ebook today and I went to check on some of the links. One of them came out pretty interesting and that is called 7 searches. Why did I say that? Stuart ever told me that I need to do theme related keywords, meaning to say that if you are targeting on a specific group of readers (niche), you need to understand what are the other words your targeted group is likely to search for other than the keyword(s) you have determined.

Did a test using CBMall

I did a test today by sending out thru my business network information about CBMall. At the same time, I have my stats monitor ready to track how effective my broadcast is in drawing my group to my online mall. I have adopted Jeff's recommendation to do a redirect that will help to mask my Clickbank ID. Hope this is something I can work on.

Internet marketing made simple - Day 2 (Plan for your blog)

Now that you have sign up for your adsense account, here is what you should do next.

1) Nope, you are not ready to start a blog. The next step is for you need to think of a topic that you can write for the days to come.
2) Do a research on the topic to see how popular your topic will be with the internet users in US (United States). I mentioned US because the tools I am going to share with you below generates data from the US. I am not sure if you are based in another country, would that make a difference.
3) Then write down all the keywords that you could find thru these 2 websites a) http://inventory.overture.com and http://www.wordtracker.com/free-trial.html. For wordtracker, the free trial are searching for keywords based on last months data. Once you are comfortable with the tool and find that the data present is too old for you, you could subscribe to the paid version.
4) Find out how much do those keywords cost from here. http://uv.bidtool.overture.com/d/search/tools/bidtool/. You would not want to write something with Ads that could earn you peanuts, right? In this case, find those words that are more expensive.
5) Write a short description on the things you are going to write in the blog.
6) Give your blog a title.
7) Write down this information on a piece of paper. Best is you could save it as a softcopy as it will come in very handy later.

Internet marketing made simple - What is a blog and how to start a blog

Today, I am going to make internet marketing simple for newbie or those who are new. I intend to share with you what is a blog and what you could do with it.

For today, I will start off on the process of starting a blog. The very first step is to register for Adsense. This is the key to earn money from the blog that you have set up. To do this, click on the Adsense logo located in at the top right hand corner of my blog, just above my profile.

One value we saw in CBMall

I spoke about CBMall yesterday and then had a discussion with my wife on the use of CBMall. At the end of the day, I think CBMall still holds some value, I need to confirm this though with Jeff. That is the newsletter that is given to mall owners. We are hoping that the newsletter will given review or comments about products that will allow users to make informed decision about their purchases. Hope he has this feature in the Mall.

Second thoughts on CBMall

I stumbled on this free code that allows me to search for ClickBank products and I don't need to pay a single cent for it. Excluding the cost to host it on my website. In the code, I am able to put in my Click Bank ID which is supposed to earn commission for me. Then I realised that most surfers would not have done that. Instead, they would have amended my IDs to theirs and purchase the items thru their own IDs. And most people would have their own IDs as the awareness of Click Bank grows. As I was searching to develop a better search product, I stumbled on this article that talks about the same thing. And the question of whether is it ethical or not arises.

I am really wondering whether I should be paying for CBMall. It seems like I am going to promote the product for them free or at my cost without benefits.

Click Bank Mall

I spoke to Stuart about CBMall and he warned me about people stealing the commission. And that's what was highlighted by Jeff Mulligan. What these people do is to use the CBMall to search for the products they want and then change the Click Bank ID to theirs. If this is the case, then you have provided them with the means to find what they want and earned the commission from others or save up the comission. In this case, you would be running the CBMall at the loss.

Then I realised the whole model is wrong. It is all about positioning and target marketing. CBMall is good for bloggers who do not have a click bank account. They may not interested in saving the commission. Rather, they are interested in getting the right products to earn money from their blogs.

Of course, the other group identified are the resellers. They are also labeled as internet marketers but they are of a different breed and needs to be targeted differently, not using Click Bank Mall definitely.

I just bough CBMall

I just bought clickbank mall yesterday and am currently experimenting with it. Questions do pop up like the mall looks the same as any other cbmall and people who get the sales copy would have used their own click bank ID to purchase the product. At the end of the day, you may be generating traffic with no returns. Further more, I have found another free script that could search for products from click bank as well. In fact, Jeff is packaging the entire product but the concept is about selling websites and identical website. So why bother to by CBMall?

I think the idea about the newsletter is great though I have yet to try out. In Jeff Mulligan start up guide, he does offer strategies for owners to prevent people from stealing the ID. The fact that he highlight and offer solutions to the problem is great. And to do it right needs some knowledge of html codes. So those who know have an advantage or should I say, those without would have difficulty making money from CBMall.

Come back again for futher updates on my progress with CBMall.

Internet business and traditional business

After having a deeper understanding of Internet Marketing, I realised something. It is conforms to the process of doing business. The only difference is that the medium used is internet and the potential customers are those who surf the internet around the world. What do I say that?

To start an internet marketing business, you need to establish your credibility. And to do that, one of them is to start a blog and write what you know on the web. As time goes by, you would have established yourself as somebody who knows a certain topic very well. That is your credibility. It is the same as in a traditional business. Then came the part when you recommend products to your readers. If you do it honestly, your readers would continue to trust you and buy products from you. They buy from you because they know and trust you thru what you write. In a traditional business, people buy your services and products because you have displayed your knowledge in a certain area. They buy from you because they trust you and know that you can delier what you want.

The power of sharing

i just met up with my brother-in-law for lunch. This is what I have learnt thru the lunch. I just shared with him about Internet marketing last Friday. During the meeting today, he asked me if I have come across this web site that searches the Click Bank Mall. I told him no and he shared with me the link to gain access. It is like I found treasures as there are a lot of free materials available for reading and knowledge.

And what strikes me as a lesson is that he has escalated my experiences in internet marketing by sharing with me good sites that he had spent time reading thru. That is time multiplication. I saved the time searching for good materials and it could be days or weeks for me to find them. And what's more, I may not find them if I just missed it that split seconds. And I saw the power of sharing, just like what Stuart as done for me.

The power of submitting to Blog Directories

I submitted my wife's blog to one of the blog directories and the blog shows and increase in traffic within the same day. I spoke to Stuart and was told that one of his participants is actually earning $15 a day currently. One of the things he did is spending 15 mins each day submitting his blog to blog directories.

What you need to know about keywords

Knowing the most search keywords is very important. Knowing those that are not used lowers the cost of putting up ads in Google Adwords. Then, knowing who searches for these keywords will help to write target ad for this group. Stuart from Adam Khoo Learning Technologies gave this example that when the phrase "interview questions" were searched, 70% of these searches were done by the interviewer rather than the interviewee, contrary to believe that interviewees are likely to search for this.

I think the same thing could have happened to me. The phrase "maternity leave" is likely to be searched by an HR person rather than an employee who are have maternity leave. Thus my ad for the key word did not receive any clicks even though there are a good number of searches everyday.

Consistency pays off

My internet marketing blog has drawn only 2 responses yesterday compared to ExcelWorks blog which has about 40 views. It shows that consistency pays off as I continue to provide knowledge on Excel. I wonder is it because the topic in this blog is too popular and I have to compete for attention.

Anyway, it is a good place to pen down my experience here.

Updates on my experiment

My internet marketing blog traffic has dropped to almost zero yesterday. I wonder what has happened? Anyway, I intent to leave it as it is. Take it that it is a control blog to compare against my Excelworks Blog.

I received the next free version of GoogleCash ebook. Looks like an interesting guide and looks like they give some sensible advise. Really need to try out to see it's effectiveness.

Checked on my Adwords experiment today. Kinda accurate. The actual average position for the keyword "baby delivery" is 2.3. No clicks. And I forgot to keep records of the estimate impressions.

ADwords forecast and phrases targeting

The estimate from Google Adwords varies even though a forecast is given. Makes me wonder if how the forecast is done.

The phrase "baby delivery" is estimated to have an average position of 2.2 with 3.5 clicks a day.

It is important to target with specific phrases than broad match. I believe the cost is lower.

The advantage in knowing html code

I just teached my wife set up her blog. Then cam the portion on Adsense. While within blogger, there is an adsense function, it is pretty limited in helping to increase her chances of getting ad revenue. I have to guide her thru Adsense account to get her to add in adsense advertisement. Also the ads placement requires some understanding of html code which she knows nothing.

Then there is this thing about channel where you could monitor your ad performance from various blogs if you have more than one.

A discovery about Adwords

I just checked on my adwords. I found that one of the keywords that was inactive yesterday turns active again today. Something interesting. It is like a stock market where the rates will change with time, not only upwards but also downwards. One possible reason could be due to the marketing budget of some advertisers has reached the limit for the day.

Why Blogging is addictive

This week, I have managed to earn $0.27 cents, out of which, $0.12 came from this blog. The traffic is half of my Excelworks Blog. I find that blogging is very addictive, especially if you have adsense. Because the sign of revenue coming in will encourage you to write more on your blog so that more readers will read your blog and therefore increase the chances of people clicking the Ads. The good thing about Google Adsense is that it delivers Ads that are more relevant to what your blog content is.

Heard from my brother-in-law that he has earned $0.07. I just told him about Blog and Adsense on Thursday night. Assuming that he has set up a blog immediately after knowing about Adsense, then he would have earned that amount within 3 days after setting up the blog, not a bad start.

Using Adword Equaliser

AdwordEqualiser is a tool that helps to

1) Get phrases that contains the key words you are searching. For example if you search for the keyword baby, they will return results such as baby names and so on. Similar to wordtracker. The difference is that it does not have the thesarus function that returns similar words.

2) The results and searches functions saves time as compared to doing searches manually thru overture and google and then counting the searching that are shown as well as number of ads that appears. This is a real time saver

I will share more as I use more of the AdWordEqualiser.

If you find that this is good enough reasons for you to acquire the software, click on the link at the right.

Blogging as a way to establish relationship and for referrals

Blogging is a powerful way of making friends and sell products. Think of it this way. Those who are faithful followers of your blog would have established an online relationship with you. As they follow you thru day after day, they will get to know you better. A trust is therefore established. As they know you, they tend to trust you more and more and would be more convinced to buy a product that you recommend. This is similar to MLM except that it is not multi level and also the relationship established is not limited by the time we are awake. And the other advantage is that there are almost 1 billions people (as at today) who can potentially become your friends. A friendship beyond physical and political boundaries.

Adwords and Internet marketing

I have started exploring Adwords using wordtracker, inventory overture as tools. The purpose is to work on niche marketing. It is quite difficult to think of words that are similar and that is highly searched. For example, I tried to promote en e-book on Adsense. My target are those who are unemployed or who wants to start their own business. Those words that I could think of have been used by others. It is quite difficult to find words that are searched and no ad are shown. The next step is to try out this tool called AdwordEqualiser. Hope it will help to provide some leads on words that are not used.

Equal amount of traffic as ExcelWorks

I looked at my statistic today. Even though I have started this blog only about 5 days ago, it is generating traffic that are as good as my ExcelWorks blog. And I have not even put in effort to promote this blog. I wonder is it because people are more interested in an internet marketing topic than Excel.

Blogging is not easy.

After blogging for 3 weeks, I realised that it is not easy to maintain a blog. Because to maintain the traffic, you need to be constantly writing contents that are interesting to your readers. One advantage of blogging, though, is that my writing skills is improving. I am not giving up.

Is it really comments for me?

I am glad that I have some basic understanding on the criterias used to rank web pages in search engines. I notice some of the comments were given not because they are interested in the topic. But rather, they are used to link my blog to their blogs or web pages. I did use it once. I find it quite painful to search all the blogs and put in the comments. They must have used a program to do this. Maybe I should write a simple one to do just that.

Higher commission than my other blogs

I am so excited. Earned another $0.12 today. I thought it was from ExcelWorks but turns out that it was from this blog. There are 2 clicks which means that each click is worth $0.06. Seems like the higher the rate advertiser pays, the higher is my commission. So if you wish to earn more money, write on topics that pays better (by publishers of course). One thing I don't understand is that I just set up my blog 2 days ago and it is visited by 8 people. I wonder how this blog was discovered by them. Maybe those who have visited my blog could share with me how they stumble on this blog.

Discouraged

Writing a blog can be discouraging some times. Just check my stats for today. I only have 10 visitors to my page. And none of them click on the Ads. As such, I did not make any money yesterday and today. In fact, I had 61 visitors yesterday and none of them click on the ad.

Really don't feel like updating the blog today since I have so few visitors. But I don't want it to degnerate but to encourage more to come to my blog. So I shall continue to write.
